Some people are born just to live,
some to change the world,
and some
people are born to change the system.
After Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar passed away, several people, with flames of his thoughts in their hands, set out for overall social change. Among them, Advocate Madhavrao Wagh and Prof. Vilas Wagh the brothers were very peculiar brothers.
Prof. Vilas Wagh dedicated his life to social work by adopting the message "Pay back to the society" given by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Over the last 50 years, Samata Shikshan Sanstha has provided thousands of students with a safe and dignified environment conducive to the holistic development of students from underprivileged communities. The organization has been successful in making a difference and touching the lives of several children as testified by its success stories – they are working in varied fields as Labor Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, Professors, Teachers, Social Workers. As the organization uses solar energy, wind energy and biogas, it has become more and more self-sufficient in energy. Vegetables are also grown on the premises of the institute using organic farming and earthworm farming, which are used in the diet of the resident students.
Computer training, English language communication skills and vocational training programs are conducted throughout the year. Full-time counselors are available for beneficiary students. Personality development camps are organized in the vacations for them so that they can have a good time. Samata Shikshan Sanstha, Pune believes in the ideology of empowered solutions and the necessary social change of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Mahatma Gandhi and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. The main objective of the organization is to bring the deprived sections of the society into the mainstream by educating them. Every program of the organization is based on this ideology.
Professor Vilas Wagh passed away on March 25, 2021 in Pune due to Corona. Following his demise, the existing executive committee of Samata Shikshan Sanstha has a great responsibility of carrying forth the work and mission of the organization. The Ashram Schools, Hostels and Social Work College, established by Professor Vilas Wagh with the help of the founding members, are ongoing activities, besides there are some supplementary co-curricular activities. In order to run these activities effectively for a long term, we require the cooperation and guidance of all of you. You have been cooperating with the organization till today and we hope you will continue to support it, this is our humble expectation from you!
Yours sincerely - Usha Wagh, President, Samata Shikshan Sanstha
